This programme aims to develop rigorous, systematic research and education in academic Jewish studies throughout Europe.

We provide funding to individual scholars and to university departments to undertake innovative Jewish Studies research and to train the next generation of scholars. We also prioritise the teaching and learning of Jewish languages.

We offer funding for:

  • Doctoral Fellowships
  • Post-Doctoral Fellowships
  • Research Consortia
  • Jewish Language Teaching Fellowships
  • Sustainability and Enhancement Grants for Jewish Studies Departments
  • Academic Language Grants

Please note: First stage applications for our Sustainability and Enhancement Grants have now closed. Applicants will shortly receive an email letting them know if they have been short-listed.

All other Academic Jewish Studies grant categories will open in November 2021. If you’ve applied in the past you’ll notice this is earlier than our usual timetable and more in-line with the academic calendar.

In the meantime, you can find more information on the individual category pages where there is also detailed guidance on eligibility criteria and how to apply.

You can register on our website to receive email notification of when grants are available and other information relating to the type of projects we support.
