This programme aims to develop rigorous, systematic research and education in academic Jewish studies throughout Europe.

We provide funding to individual scholars and to university departments to undertake innovative Jewish Studies research and to train the next generation of scholars. We also prioritise the teaching and learning of Jewish languages.

Sustainability and Enhancement Grants:

We are now accepting first-stage applications for a new Academic Jewish Studies category: Sustainability and Enhancement Grants for Jewish Studies Departments.

All other Academic Jewish Studies grant categories will open in November 2021. If you’ve applied in the past you’ll notice this is earlier than our usual timetable and more in-line with the academic calendar.

In the meantime, you can find more information on the individual category pages where there is also detailed guidance on eligibility criteria and how to apply.

You can register on our website to receive email notification of when the AJS application round opens.
