Language Studies Grants

Foundation funded Ulpan Scholarships will be available through the World Union for Jewish Studies starting in March. These scholarships are intended for European graduate students and early career scholars of Jewish Studies to undertake Hebrew language intensives in Israel during the Summer of 2020.

Applicants may apply for study at any of the Summer Ulpan programmes offered by the following universities:

Scholarships will be for up to 1500 GBP and can be used toward tuition and housing costs and, in cases where housing is not required, the remainder of the grant may be used towards travel costs in cooperation with partner travel agencies.

Yiddish Intensive Scholarships 

For those wishing to study Yiddish, please note that the Foundation continues to work with intensive language study programmes to make funding available through direct application to one of the following language schools:

The Naomi Prawer Kadar International Yiddish Summer Program at Tel Aviv University

Please apply directly to your preferred language school using the scholarship form they will provide. You will be notified by the school to which you apply as to whether you have been successful.

Note: Neither the ulpan scholarships nor funding for Yiddish language studies cannot be applied for through the Foundation’s website.
