Language Studies Grants

The Foundation funds scholarships for the intensive study of both Hebrew and Yiddish. Advanced European BA students (those who have completed at least the first two years of their degree and intend to pursue graduate degrees in Jewish Studies), MA and PhD students, and early career scholars are eligible to apply.

Ulpan Scholarships

Foundation funded Ulpan Scholarships are available through the World Union for Jewish Studies.

Applicants may apply to any of the below summer ulpan programmes:

Scholarships will be for up to 1500 GBP and can be used toward tuition and housing costs. In cases where housing is not required, the remainder of the grant may be used towards travel costs in cooperation with partner travel agencies. Due to COVID-19, scholarships may be used for online study, if any of the above universities offer online intensives during summer 2021.

Note: Applications to ulpan scholarships or funding for Yiddish language studies are not available through the Foundation’s website.
