Our week-long seminar is intended for early-career professionals in Jewish heritage and graduate students contemplating a career in this field.

Run in conjunction with the Bibliotecha Rosenthaliana-Allard Pierson at The University of Amsterdam, our intensive seminar combines academic presentations, hands-on workshops, case studies, and site visits with experts working in museums, archives, libraries, and research universities.

Grant details

Our Jewish Heritage Seminar is designed for early-career professionals and graduate students. It is an opportunity to learn about heritage collections, buildings and monuments, their histories and stories, conservation and cataloging, heritage and memory, exhibition and presentation, stakeholders, collaboration, and societal relevance.

Applicants must be professionals in a Jewish heritage institution in Europe, with less than 7 years of experience, or recent or current graduate students in a European university working in the field of Jewish heritage or contemplating a career in this sector.

Fluency in English is a must.

Our funding covers accommodation, lectures, lunches and site visits. Participants must cover their travel to and from Amsterdam, as well as dinners.

Participants are expected to attend the whole seminar and actively participate.

You should expect notification via email letting you know whether your application has been successful or unsuccessful.

Required supporting documentation

If the required documentation is not included, your application cannot be considered.

  1. Letter of support: this must be a recommenation from a supervisor, advisor or director of an institution/organisation.
  2. Professional CV (maximum 2 pages): This should reflect your experience in undertaking activities such as the one outlined in this application. Qualifications include professional certificates, university diplomas, and relevant experience. Please combine all the CVs into one document before uploading it.

Translations: Documents in a language other than English that are not accompanied by an English translation will not be processed.

Please upload your translated document against the same upload title you use for the original document. This means you may have two documents saved under each upload title.
