Regional Hubs for Jewish Studies in Europe

Eran Laor Cartographic Collection (The National Library of Israel)

The Foundation works directly with institutions that have a proven track record for serving as hubs of Jewish Studies in their region in order to further its mission of securing and supporting the field in Europe. These institutions not only boast academic excellence, but also act as connectors, able to engage relevant academics and others from outside of their own institution creating productive synergy.

Aside from being regional hubs, funded departments are also seen to be viable on the basis of student demand, faculty already in post, local library and archival resources, the presence of a local Jewish community, and their recent history of providing Jewish Studies.

Foundation support in this area includes the provision of either a teaching position or a research coordinator, and all grants include substantial funding toward student scholarships.

The Foundation is not currently soliciting additional applications for Regional Hubs, but if you would like further information about this initiative please contact Robin Nobel.
