Skills, Knowledge and Tools for Jewish education
Enhance and strengthen the knowledge and skills of your professional staff and volunteers
Jewish communal life is complex and each country has its own unique features. Nevertheless, a common cause of concern is the availability of meaningful, relevant and professional Jewish education in a variety of settings.
The mission of the Foundation’s Jewish Education programme is to develop a sustainable eco-system of professional and volunteer Jewish educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to engage and connect more Jews with Jewish life, learning, culture and heritage.
To achieve this mission, our Jewish education grants support communal organisations to enhance the level of Jewish literacy within their own programmes and encourages the use of local heritage resources, including museums and libraries, as an effective tool for creative educational programmes.
Further, two important initiatives listed below complement our grantmaking: Gesher L’Europa – our work with National Library of Israel to create resources for educators and Yesod: supporting Jewish communal professionals and educators and offering opportunities to enhance their Jewish literacy and skills.
If you are an applicant from the Autumn 2020 round, you will be notified of a decision in January 2021.
The Grant round is opening 18 January 2021. Please register below for our updates.

Digital project addressing Jewish education community needs
Gesher L’Europa enables the National Library of Israel to be a virtual and physical cultural hub for international exchange between Israel and Europe.
Yesod programmes offer a variety of opportunities for professional development and Jewish learning for Jewish communal professionals and educators across Europe. Through Yesod programmes, members of European Jewish communities are inspired to use their knowledge and skills to create dynamic Jewish educational experiences for all involved in their communities.
